Review of fundamental concepts in chemical reaction thermodynamics and kinetics. Mass and energy balances for homogenous ideal reactors. Batch, semi-batch and continuous operation. Minimization of by-product and pollution production. Heterogenous reactions, effect of heat and mass transfer on the global rate. Laboratory exercises.
