Use of up-to-date statistical analysis to extract information from a set of data, including the application and interpretation of results rather than on formal statistical theory; the challenge will be in the selection of the appropriate statistical methodology to address the problem and the limitations. The social aspects of statistical analysis, the ethical implications of data collection, privacy concerns, and the potential impact of statistical results on different societal groups.
